Found August 03, 2014 on Fenway West:
The Red Sox were hoping that they might be able to go on a little bit of a magical run with their rookie pitcher taking the mound night after night.  With Ranaudo putting on a good show on Friday, it didn’t seem like as much of a pipe dream, but with Allen Webster on the mound on Saturday it showed that the Sox still have a lot of hiccups and lessons in front of them in the 2014 season.  Webster was taking the mound for his 2nd start in 2014 and he wouldn’t end up not lasting long due to his control and command issues. The Red Sox were the ones who jumped out to an early lead in the game yesterday.  In the 2nd Yoenis Cespedes came to the plate for the first time in a Red Sox uniform.  Cespedes hit a single to left in his inaugural at bat.  Cespedes was followed by Mike Napoli who hit a towering homerun to the Monster that I am still not sure if it has landed yet.  Wowzers.  Sox 2-0.  The Sox scored their 3rd run of the inning when Christian Vazquez hit an RBI single to center.  Sox ...

Red Sox v.2 For The Win

I spent the better part of yesterday pouring over images of Jon Lester and Jonny Gomes as A’s, Jon Lackey in his Cardinals gear, and Andrew Miller having a catch with some Orioles. I’ll admit, I was in a dark place, clinging tenaciously to my 2013 memories as the players who made it all possible slipped from our fingers. Then I parked my ass at the bar for last night’s Red...

Yoenis Cespedes Makes Red Sox Debut, Still Has Far More Work To Do

BOSTON — Yoenis Cespedes had been with the Red Sox for less than 24 hours, and already people around the club were marveling at the damage he is capable of inflicting with his bat. “It’s as much raw power as you’re going to find in the game,” manager John Farrell said. “His middle-of-the-order presence is something that we’ve needed to lengthen our our lineup.” Cespedes...

Boston Skywalkers, Evil Empire Highlight MLB Star Wars Logos (Photos)

Professional baseball and the epic movie series “Star Wars” have a well-documented relationship, especially in the New England region. The Triple-A Pawtucket Red Sox hosted a “Star Wars Night” at McCoy Stadium in June, and the Double-A Portland Sea Dogs upped the ante in early July by donning fantastic Chewbacca uniforms on their own Star Wars-themed night. Perhaps with baseball’s...
