Weighing in on Byrnes

A very popular rumor today was the Eric Byrnes for Luis Castillo idea. First off I would make the deal in a minute but I just don't see it as realistic. The funny thing is, it was an Arizona beat writer who suggested the idea and I would think the D-Backs would be the team that scoffed at the suggestion.So why would the the D-Backs look to move Byrnes, he's a 32 y/o right handed corner outfielder who only played in 52 games last year and hit .209. Byrnes is owned 11m per year for two years and is only a lifetime .263 hitter. Once thought to be the leader of the young D-Back core of players the team seemed to move on without him. The D-backs will need a 2B and it would take an exchange of hefty contracts for either player to get moved....What makes Byrnes appealing is that he's a crash into walls, win at all cost and play with complete abandon type player.
