Wes Helms latest Marlin to get creamed

(Posted by Ted Hutton) Remember how everyone was so depressed after Saturday’s game? Nothing that a little shaving cream won’t cure. That’s cream as in face-full-of, which happens when a Marlin gets a walk-off hit. Sunday it was Wes Helms, as the Marlins completed a pretty impressive home stand, going 7-3 (with 4 of those wins walk-offs) and winning all three series in the process. Here is Helms, who not only got smeared by one of his teammates, but also got a facefull from one of his sons. - - A whole host of players had a hand in the win, starting with starter Chris Volstad, who survived a troublesome first inning before settling down and turning a 4-3 lead over to the pen. The pen then gave up one run in five innings, which, as fans know, is pretty remarkable. All in all a nice day at Sun Life, and a nice way to come out of the All-Star break…now its on to the West Coast to face two tough teams in Giants and Padres. - Mermaids were looking good as usual - And Manate...
