Jake Peavy Up For a Trade: ‘I’ll go play anywhere’

Chicago White Sox starter Jake Peavy loves Chicago and love the fans, but Peavy  also knows the reality of his situation with the White Sox. The White Sox have lost seven games in a row and find themselves six games back of the Detroit Tigers in the American League Central Division and can ill afford to fall much further behind the front running Tigers.Peavy  does not have a no...

Fan drops shot at Raul Ibanez home run ball

YouTube This is exactly how you do not catch a home run ball.  Mariners designated hitter Raul Ibanez hit a bomb off the White Sox John Danks Monday night and this poor soul in the orange shirt had an adventure and a half trying to haul it in. This is what the kids call an epic fail.

Let's Quit Lollygagging: It's Josh Phegley Time

I will admit it, I was wrong.  During the off-season I stood by my feeling that the White Sox should part ways with an aging AJ Pierzynski in favor of making Tyler Flowers the full time catcher. Yes, AJ was coming off a career year, but 36-year-old catchers with that many miles on them usually do not continue to put up career numbers or stay healthy.  I felt that Flowers...

White Sox Jake Peavy leaves start with injury

The White Sox are playing themselves right out of contention.  They were a .500 team on May 26th, but now they've lost eight-straight games and they may have lost one of their best pitchers.  Jake Peavy had to leave last night's game with an apparent rib injury after just 2 1/3 innings-pitched. According to Scott Merklin of, X-rays on Peavy's ribs showed...

Jake Peavy to have MRI on left side

Jake Peavy left his start last night with irritation in his left side. He’s scheduled to have an MRI on his left ribs after initial x-rays came back negative. Another bump in the road for the injury plagued career of Jake Peavy. After making 32 starts last year, the odds were stacked against him repeating that feat. Hector Santiago will likely fill in for Peavy in the interim...

Jarrod Parker Bests Chris Sale, A’s Beat White Sox 2-0 and Wrap Up Sweep

When you’re hot, you’re hot – and A’s starter Jarrod Parker’s current hot streak grew even warmer on Sunday afternoon. In what has to be considered his strongest outing of the season, Parker shut out an anemic White Sox offense for 6 1/3 innings (only allowing 2 hits) en route to the A’s 2-0 victory and three-game sweep of the weekend series. With the win, Parker improved...

Parker, A’s Shut Out White Sox

The A’s completed a three game sweep of Chicago on Sunday afternoon behind Jerrod Parker’s best pitching performance on the season and Coco Crisp’s speedy style of play. Parker had a tough assignment going up against White Sox ace Chris Sale, but out-dueled the lanky lefty to win 2-0. “I’m not pitching against him, I’m pitching against the guy in the box,” said Parker...

June 3: Mariners 4, White Sox 2

So far, since his return from being sidelined for over one year, we'd seen a good John Danks and a bad John Danks. With many questions lingering over what we'll continue to get from the $56 million man, the Texas-native followed up his poor start last week at Wrigley Field with more of the same in Seattle. The game actually got off to a much better start than we'...

Athletics 2, White Sox 0

Josh Donaldson's sixth-inning sacrifice fly ended a career-best 28-inning scoreless streak by Chicago starter Chris Sale, and the Oakland Athletics beat the White Sox 2-0 on Sunday for a weekend sweep. Jarrod Parker (4-6) hung tough in an impressive pitcher's duel with Sale to win back-to-back starts for the first time this year. The right-hander matched his season high...

White Sox-Mariners Preview

The Chicago White Sox are enduring their longest road losing streak in five years, so visiting the Seattle Mariners for a three-game series may be a relief. Giving the ball to John Danks may also help. With Paul Konerko expected back in the lineup, Danks and the White Sox look to continuing their dominance of the Mariners in the opener of this three-game series Monday night. Chicago...
