CHICAGO - Lanky left-hander Chris Sale continued his quest toward his first 20-win season, striking out 11 and scattered six hits as the Chicago White Sox topped the visiting Oakland A's 7-3 on Sunday. In his third outing of 10 or more strikeouts this season, Sale (14-3) once again was nothing short of outstanding, giving up just two solo home runs while not allowing a walk to the A's (61-53). The White Sox, meanwhile, remained in first place in the American League Central, improving to 62-51. Sale gave up just three hits while striking out nine batters in the first five innings, while protecting a close 1-0 lead. In the first, Josh Reddick struck out swinging, but was able to reach base when Sale was charged with a wild pitch. But the next batter, Yoenis Cespedes, struck out swinging to end the inning. In the third, Cliff Pennington led off with a single, only to be subsequently erased when he was tagged out in a rundown after leading off first base too far. In ...

To say that the Chicago White Sox depend on the long ball for victories is an understatement. This hit-or-miss strategy paid off Friday night as the White Sox hit four solo home runs to defeat the Oakland Athletics 4-3.
With Gavin Floyd on the mound, the Athletics jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the second inning. In recent Floyd fashion, he settled down after this early deficit...

As we have noted before, sometimes celebrating plays can go horribly wrong and the latest victim is White Sox slugger Kevin Youkilis. After hitting a home run in the fifth inning in Saturday's game against the Oakland Athletics, Youkilis was celebrating in the dugout with his teammate when one of them decided to high five him in the head: Your browser does not support iframes.
The Chicago White Sox's lineup just doesn't look the same when the team captain is out of it. That was evident once again Monday night, as Chicago struggled to score runs in the 3-2, 11-inning loss to the Toronto Blue Jays. That meant Adam Dunn carrying the load with two solo homers, but having to play first base with Paul Konerko out. That meant catcher A.J. Pierzynski...

The AL Central leaders hope to start reversing those woes Monday night in the opener of a four-game set against the injury-plagued Toronto Blue Jays.
