I am realist enough to know that the Mets are not going to win 162 games and the Yankees are not going to lose 162 games. But losing two in a row to your hated rivals can’t sit well this early with the Yankees who really need to get off to a good start injuries not withstanding. Could you imagine if George Steinbrenner was still alive now and this happened …a press relaease would be forthcoming apologizing for the Yankees slow start, and if the Yankees didn’t get it together soon changes would be coming. The team in Queens however are living good, as long as they play the Padres they could win alot more games than last season. Ok Ok I am teasing a bit. You can’t blame me, it isn’t everyday that the Mets have a better record than the Yankees especially in a year where the expectations are so low for the Mets. Today Mets fans were treated to the future, and the future looks like a real good pitcher …Matt Harvey. So far he has lived up to his billing. Pitching dominant against the Padres is one thing if he pitches like this against the Braves, Phillies and Washington Nationals then I will be ready to say Harvey is the man. Yet I do like what I see. He maynot be Tom Seaver yet but he isn’t Tim Leary either. If you don’t know who Tim Leary is the short story is he was pitching phenom that was supposed to be the Next Seaver, had a great spring I believe in 1978 and then in Chicago got bombed blew out his arm and didn’t live up to the billing in a Met uniform. Harvey looks like he is going to be a keeper, but as i said before I like to see him do it against the tough competition in the division then I will been impressed. But 2-0 is 2-0 whether you are playing the Padres or anyone else.
