I've said all along I don't expect the Mets to be involved in the big name free agents like Michael Bourn and I don't really blame them for that, Bourn at this point a move like that really makes very little sense. The Mets are rebuilding, spending on a big piece really isn't making them a contender this year and wont be around long enough to be part of the winning years.  Besides that type of player would cost them a pick and picks are what you rebuild with. What I've been critical of them about is their lack of creativity, the Collin Cowgill trade is an excellent example of what they should have been doing all off-season.  Bringing in multiple guys with potential upside and seeing who sticks. Cowgill was a nice low risk pick-up but he should be competing against at 3-4 guys you could say the same thing about. So I become frustrated with the lack of activity, it's not about making a big splash it's about passing on the Cowgill's of the world who seem to sign everyday now to minor league deals.  For those who say well maybe nobody wants to come here, I'll dispute with the fact that the Mets have something very appealing to second tier guys....Playing time..Today the Indians have grabbed two such players Ryan Rayburn and Ben Francisco.  The right handed hitting outfield options on the free agent market are down to Hairston and Jeff Baker.
