Outside of Matt Kassel, the most famous college backup quarterback of all-time, the Colorado Rockies have two other famous backup college qbs - both on their 25 man Major League roster. Todd Helton was recruited to the University of Tennessee, but his story is that a young man named Peyton with an NFL pedigree and a laser right arm convinced him to focus on baseball. Seth Smith was recruited to Ole Miss, where it just so happened Peyton's brother Eli was also attending, and Smith took the to the diamond and left the gridiron. Cool huh?
