Almost forgotten in the "Rangers didn't get Fielder," story line which has eclipsed all other news this week, is that, yes, the Rangers signed Yu Darvish. Without thinking about it deeply, Darvish simply rolls into C.J. Wilson's vacated slot since Wilson signed with the Angels. But it's far more complicated than, "Darvish equals Wilson." That brings us to this post over at ESPN.com's Dallas affiliate which presented a debate by two writers there about what the Rangers should do about it. Their conclusions were a bit astounding. One of the writers said that Alexi Ogando should go to the bullpen where he was such a force in the playoffs. The other writer posited that Ogando should be given a full chance at starting and Matt Harrison should be traded for needed parts (center field and first ...

Roy Oswalt Wants to Pitch for Texas Rangers
The Texas Rangers recently acquired Japanese pitching sensation Yu Darvish, but he’s never pitched in America. A three-time All-Star who has pitched in the big leagues for a decade is interested in joining the Rangers and Texas would be crazy not to take advantage of it. Philadelphia Phillies right-hander Roy Oswalt is a free agent and a source close to the Phillies said he wants...
Uehara On the Chopping Block
When the Texas Rangers acquired both Mike Adams and Koji Uehara on deadline day last July, it was thought that the Rangers would instantly be vaulted to the top of the best bullpens in baseball.
Uehara put up a 1.72 ERA with a freakish strikeout to walk ratio for the Baltimore Orioles before being brought to Texas, where things didn't go so well.

Inbox: How will Feliz fare as a starter?
Beat reporter T.R. Sullivan answers questions regarding what type of numbers Neftali Feliz can post as a starter and if the Rangers should ink Roy Oswalt.
Uehara
Perhaps it's nitpicky, but I quibble with Gerry Fraley's characterization of potential trade-away Koji Uehara as "a victim of the numbers game in [Texas's] bullpen." Let's check those numbers.
First, the closer and setup guys:
Joe Nathan,
Alexi Ogando (presumably),
Mike Adams.
Next, everyone else on the 40 with MLB experience:
Scott Feldman,
Mark Lowe...

Darvish Motivated to Become World's Best Pitcher
Yu Darvish says a desire to become the world's best pitcher was behind his decision to leave Japan and sign with the Texas Rangers.

The 25-year-old right-hander agreed last week to a six-year contract...
