The wife of Pittsburgh Pirates catcher Chris Snyder was attacked by a man following a traffic dispute on Wednesday.
Snyder was unable to exit the car due to his recent back surgery.
Subhash Arjanbhi Modhwadia, who was riding a scooter, and Carla Snyder nearly collided on Wednesday, causing the former to follow her to a nearby gas station.
Modhwadia kicked Snyder's vehicle while their two children were in the car and attempted to hit the 44-year-old woman before a bystander and off-duty police officer subdued him.
Modhwadia is being held on $25,000 bail.
Snyder was placed on the 60-day disabled list on June 9 with lower back tightness.
