Here is what the pen looks like at this time:Frank Francisco- closerJon Rauch- set-up manRamon Ramirez- 7th inningBobby Parnell- ROOGYTim Byrdak- LOOGYManny Acosta- middle relieverThat leaves one spot for D.J. Carrasco, Josh Stinson, Daniel Herrera, Pedro Beato, Chuck James, Garrett Olson, Miguel Batista and Fernando Cabrera. To quickly rule out a few I think Beato and Stinson will start the year in Buffalo along with Olson who will be kept stretched out as a starter. Cabrera has never matched his AAA production at the major league level, that said; ...

Photo by Michael BaronOver the last seven seasons the Mets have had Jose Reyes and his .341 lifetime OBP leading off. Since 2005 Reyes played in at least 126 games or more aside from his basically lost 2009 season in which he only appeared in 36 games. Injury reasons aside the Mets will enter the season with a new lead-off man for the first time in many years. Terry Collins has...

Well, according to the fans of MetsOnline’s Facebook page, 76-86. MetsOnline fans said anything from 55-107 to 102-60…. So, let’s just say that there was a range. Here were the answers that we received on Facebook: So, as I wrote earlier, the average of these answers is 76-86 or one win less than the Mets’ 2011 campaign. NY judge blocks immediate appeal by Madoff trustee

A federal judge says a trustee trying to recover money for investors in Bernard Madoff's Ponzi scheme can't immediately appeal a ruling limiting how much the New York Mets' owners might lose. The judge said Tuesday letting trustee Irving Picard appeal his September ruling would delay a March trial. The judge limited what the Mets' owners might have to pay to $386...

Personally, I watch in good times or bad because I love watching baseball...

The Padres and Cake: A Failed Marketing Campaign

During the Kevin Towers administration under Sandy Alderson I had a source in the Padres front office. I also had a source during the Jed Hoyer Era. To call them sources would probably be inaccurate. A source is a person with whom a trusting relationship has been cultivated whereas I just happened to know someone with organizational ties who I could bug for a little information.I...
