ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) -- Kendrys Morales and Chris Iannetta hit early two-run homers, C.J. Wilson snapped his 11-start winless skid and the Los Angeles Angels jumped all over new Boston starter Zach Stewart in a 10-3 victory over the Red Sox on Wednesday night.
Torii Hunter, Alberto Callaspo and Erick Aybar all contributed run-scoring doubles during the three innings pitched by Stewart (0-1), who yielded 10 hits and fell behind 9-1 in a horrific Red Sox debut. Five Angels had multihit games, led by Hunter's 3-for-4 effort with two RBIs.
Wilson (10-9) got plenty of help in his first victory since June 26, ending a dismaying two-month stretch of futility by the Angels' 77.5-million left-hander.
Los Angeles' All-Star free-agent acquisition still gave up eight hits and three runs while laboring at times through six innings, but Wilson struck out four and won at home for the first time since June 19.
Wilson went 0-5 during his two-month winless stretch, the longest of his career since his rookie season. He also had an eight-run lead at home against Tampa Bay on Aug. 18, but gave it away by allowing seven runs in the fifth inning.
Howie Kendrick extended his hitting streak to 15 games with two hits for the Angels, who have won seven straight against Boston, including all five meetings this season. After sweeping a series at Fenway Park last week, Los Angeles goes for the season sweep Thursday night with Zach Greinke on the mound.
Mauro Gomez had three hits and Scott Podsednik added two hits and an RBI for the Red Sox, who have lost seven of 10. Boston dropped back to six games below .500, matching its worst mark since May 10.
Stewart's dismal debut didn't win over any Boston fans. The Red Sox acquired him from the White Sox in June in the trade of Kevin Youkilis.
Stewart, traded for the third time in three years, went to Triple-A Pawtucket and hadn't pitched in the majors since June 18.
Mike Trout led off with a single and scored his major league-leading 102nd run on Hunter's double. Albert Pujols then singled and scored on Morales' 17th homer of the season, putting Los Angeles up 4-0 after four batters.
Hunter added an RBI single in the second inning, and Morales' leadoff double in the third led to four more runs, capped by Iannetta's seventh homer.
NOTES: Wilson didn't allow a homer for the first time in his last seven starts. ... Stewart is the 53rd player to appear in a game for Boston this season. ... RHP Daniel Bard was in the Boston clubhouse before the game, and could be back on the roster Thursday. Bard was demoted to Pawtucket in early June after struggling in Boston's starting rotation. ... Beleaguered Boston closer Alfredo Aceves came on in the seventh inning one night after blowing his fourth save in his last seven chances. Kendrick hit Aceves' first pitch for a single, but the reliever stranded two runners. ... Boston CF Jacoby Ellsbury's streak of six straight games with at least two hits ended.

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- There is still life in the Angels.
Not a lot mind you, but enough to keep them pushing forward, watching the standings, looking for an edge. Stranger things have happened.
"I saw St. Louis do it," Torii Hunter said Tuesday night. "They were 11 games back last year (and won the World Series). And in 2006 when I was with the Twins, we were 8 games...
Albert Pujols returned to the Los Angeles Angels' lineup Tuesday night with the understanding that he would not push his injured calf too much. Pujols certainly complied in the sixth inning when he hit his 29th home run of the season and trotted around the bases. "He can (ease up) and not be at risk running the bases," manager Mike Scioscia said before the game...

It is almost that time of year, time for the Angels to dip down into the ranks of their minor league system for some reinforcements in September when rosters expand. Depending on how you feel about the current state of the Angels farm system, especially the high levels, that is either a midly exciting statement or your are still snickering at the idea that any Halo fan would...
As much as the Angels need every win from here on out, tonight was about getting that win for C.J. Wilson.
Prior to tonight's game, Wilson had gone 11 consecutive starts without earning a win (last on June 26.) It seemed the power of PMA was losing its luster.
Tonight, Wilson was able to walk into the dugout after six innings with a seven run lead, leaving his...

I, along with many other Halo fans, have been openly griping over the lost season of Peter Bourjos during this rollercoaster of a year. Seriously, what in the world did Peter Bourjos do to deserve a year round pass to ride the pine all season long? This is a guy who was a top 5 leaders in UZR out of all CF in baseball, not just the AL, but in the entirety of baseball. I understand...

Torii Hunter Jr. discusses Prosper's preseason preparations, and recent interest from Texas.
To all those that decided to go to sleep, you made the right decision. You didn't miss much anyways. The Angels were able to get another early lead on Jon Lester and they come away with a much needed sweep, beating the Sox 5-2.
Both starting pitchers were shaky tonight, the main difference was that Lester couldn't get out of jams and Zack Grienke could. Lester gave up...
ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Zack Greinke pitched seven strong innings Thursday night, helping the Los Angeles Angels to a 5-2 win over the Boston Red Sox that completed a season sweep. The Angels went 6-0 against the Red Sox, with all of the games coming in the past 10 days, including three games this week at Angel Stadium. It's the first time in the Angels' 51-year history that...
The importance of team victories cannot be stressed enough. It's one thing for a select few players to carry a team through a game or a series, but as the season dwindles down, the Angels need to play together in order to keep their playoff hopes alive.

For a while, it looked like Jered Weaver was well on his way to his third loss in a row at home. That would have been the first occurrence of its kind in Weaver's career.
Don't fret. I won't dwell on what could have been a disaster.
Tonight's walk-off victory was exactly what the Angels needed to begin this short, 3-game homestand against the Red Sox...
An injury hasn't slowed down Albert Pujols.
The Seattle Mariners, however, will try to do it again.
Pujols looks to continue his torrid hitting as the Los Angeles Angels go for an eighth win in 10 tries Friday night when they open this three-game set with the surging Mariners.
Pujols sat out last weekend's series at Detroit with tightness in his right calf, and Los Angeles...
