The Miami Marlins saw their seven game winning streak come to an end on Tuesday with a 3-2 loss to the Houston Astros.   Miami which has already guaranteed their best nine game road trip ever was leading late but ultimately could not seal down the victory.   The loss moved the Marlins back to .500 at 15-15 and prevented the team from reaching two games over .500 for the first time this season.

Anibal Sanchez was far from the reason for the loss as he went seven innings in which there were no earned runs scored.   Two runs did come home via a pair of Omar Infante errors on one play with the bases loaded.  The normally sure-handed second baseman had trouble fielding the ball and then threw it away to turn a two run lead into a tie.    Sanchez struck out eight and walked two while allowing five hits.   Sanchez now leads the National League in strikeouts with 46.  The seven innings in this no-decision lowered his E.R.A to 2.01.   Ryan Webb took the loss as he allowed the eventual game winning run to score during the eighth inning.    That was the first loss of the season for Webb who is now 1-1.

Much like Monday, all of the runs for Miami came via home runs as the team hit a pair of long-balls.   Infante hit his sixth home run in the fourth inning while John Buck followed with his third blast of the season in the fifth frame.    As a team, the Marlins managed only four hits as the other two came courtesy of Logan Morrison and Greg Dobbs.

On Wednesday, the Marlins will wrap up their road trip as Josh Johnson takes on Lucas Harrell.
