Los Indios de Mayaguez won the Puerto Rican League best-of-9 championship series with their 5th win over Los Criollos. Los Indios scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 3rd with two singles, a walk, a 2-RBI double, and an RBI single. They added some insurance with a 2-run homer in the 8th. Bobby Livingston made the start and earned the win for Los Indios, going into the 6th inning. He allowed 2 runs — one in the 3rd ininng on a pair of doubles, and one in the 6thon a double and a single. Justin Thomas pitched the top of the 9th for Mayaguez, and earned a Save as he retired the side in order to finish the game and the series.
MEXICAN PACIFIC LEAGUEÂ Â (best of 7)
Yaquis de Obregon vs Algodoneros de Guasave
Los Yaquis, who have won all 3 games so far in this championship series, began Game 4 with 5 runs in the top of the 1st — a solo homer by SS Alfredo Amezaga, a run on an error and a single, and a 3-run homer. The first 11 Guasave batters went down in order, before they got a single in the 4th. After 4 innings, Los Yaquis lead by a score of 5-0.
