If your expectation are lower and you except that this is a transition year then the winter meetings were very productive for the Mets.None of the players they obtained are going to win them a World Series but what they do is fill holes that if everything breaks right gives them a chance to be a competitive team without effecting the long term goals. Carrasco, who got a two year deal but at a cost many relievers would get per year ( 2yrs-2.25M). When you add rule five pick-up, Beato to the mix the Mets have a solid pen from the right side with: K-Rod, Parnell, Iggy, Carrasco, Beato, Acosta and Alvarez.
