FF Locker Room:
With Johhny Cueto returning to action, the Cincinnati Reds had to send LHP Tony Cingrani back to Triple-A Louisville. Cingrani had pitched extremely well for the Reds over his six starts going 2-0 with a 3.27 ERA and a 1.03 WHIP. He also struck out 41 and walked 9. If Mike Leake struggles at all as the fifth man on the Reds rotation, Cingrani would gladly make his way back.
Some fantasy baseball players had claimed Cingrani, please make the corresponding move to send him back to the free agent pool.

Cincinnati's six-game winning streak came to a halt Friday night as the Phillies handed the visitors a 5-3 defeat. Philly scored two in the bottom of the eighth to help push past the second-place Reds.
However, one guy Cincy certainly can't blame for the loss is Joey Votto, who notched two hits in the affair, including this...
Surrendering back-to-back solo homers to the Phillies’ Erik Kratz and Freddy Galvis, Cinncinati Reds flamethrower Aroldis Chapman blew his second consecutive save opportunity in a 3-2 loss in Philadelphia on Sunday. Converting eight straight chances to open the season, the 25-year-old Chapman (3-1, 2.41 ERA) has struggled in May. Regardless, the 6-foot-4, 200 pound Chapman remains...
Neftali Soto made an appearance late in the Reds game at Philadelphia for his MLB debut. The plan is for him to stay with the Reds for the remainder of the weekend before Johnny Cueto comes off the DL Monday to take his spot on the active roster. Tony Cingrani did a good job replacing Cueto for six turns through the rotation and will return to Louisville to continue developing as a starter.
Though the Cincinnati Reds swept a three-game home set from the Philadelphia Phillies last month, they didn't do much against Cliff Lee.
Looking for a seventh consecutive victory overall and on the road, the Reds hope to get the best of Lee on Friday night.
Cincinnati (25-16) outscored Philadelphia 16-4 during the April 15-17 series, but was held scoreless by Lee (4-2, 2.86 ERA...
Back-to-back home runs from two of the most unlikely suspects was the difference between the Reds winning and losing the series against Philadelphia over the weekend.
Both homers came off Aroldis Chapman in the bottom of the ninth Sunday. It marked the first time in 157 career appearances that Chapman had allowed two home runs in the same game.
Despite the heart-breaking loss...

PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Freddy Galvis and Erik Kratz each homered off closer Aroldis Chapman in the bottom of the ninth innings Sunday, rallying the Philadelphia Phillies past the Cincinnati Reds for a stunning 3-2 victory.
Chapman (3-2) blew his second straight save opportunity after converting his first eight chances this season. The 100 mph throwing left-hander walked pinch-hitter...
The Cincinnati Reds own one of the best starters' ERAs in baseball, and now they're welcoming back Johnny Cueto.
The right-hander will be activated off the disabled list to make his first start in more than a month when the Reds open a three-game road set against the New York Mets on Monday night.
Cincinnati starters have pitched to an ERA of 3.20, with 14 2-3 straight...
It was shaping up to be another shut out. For seven innings,Reds starter Homer Bailey kept the Phillies off the scoreboard. It wasn't quite as pathetic as it sounded. They were hitting the ball hard, they were just going into gloves. Still, it was starting to get ugly. The unsung...
For the second consecutive appearance, Aroldis Chapman has blown a save opportunity after converting eight straight save opportunities to start the 2013 season.
Entering the game with a 2-1 Cincinnati lead over the Philadelphia Phillies in the ninth-inning, Chapman issued a four-pitch walk to Delmon Young, poorly locating his fastball and changeup.
Young would be replaced by pinch...
PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Bronson Arroyo pitched five-hit ball over 7 2-3 innings, Joey Votto was 4 for 4 with a homer, and the Cincinnati Reds beat the Philadelphia Phillies 10-0 Saturday.
Arroyo (4-4) struck out six and allowed one runner to reach third in winning his third straight start against Philadelphia. He was 1-7 in his first 10 games against the Phillies, but has figured them...

First of all I want to wish a happy birthday to my “bookend” children. Taira Faith, my oldest, turns 25 on May 20, Ethan Joel, my youngest, turns 8 on May 17. The other three will just have to wait their turn!
Speaking of children, I just got my Father’s Day present, the complete Ken Burns’ Baseball series on DVD, including the Tenth Inning...

Fantasy baseball 3×3 is back again. This week, we’re catching Big Erv, resisting the impulse to trade Paul Goldschmidt, and grabbing a spot on Waveland Avenue for Travis Wood’s next start.
