Wow, it was so great driving home from work knowing that Oliver Perez was back in the fold. Listening to all the excited Mets fans calling in on sports radio made the ride so enjoyable. It's amazing how one signing can lift your spirits after weeks of worrying about what our rotation would look like after Johan Santana, Mike Pelfrey and John Maine. I don't think anybody originally planned on having Oliver Perez back when the off season started, but I was one of those who was hoping he'd come back. So, now that we've taken care of our bullpen and our rotation, what's next? How about left field! (I know, I know, us Mets fans are never satisfied!) Obviously the big enchilada is Manny Ramirez, but don't forget Adam Dunn and Bobby Abreu are still lurking around too. I just read Joel Sherman's blog post where he says the Mets are not interested in Manny or Abreu at this point, and that they are pretty much done spending. I wish I could just discount his opini...
