Countless yellow journalists have been mocking legendary New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter for appearing somewhat pudgy in a photograph snapped yesterday at a hotel on South Beach in Miami. The 38-year old Jeter, who batted .316 with 15 dingers … Continue reading →

OH CAPTAIN MY CAPTAIN
Yankees star Derek Jeter, currently rehabbing following ankle surgery, was spotted at a South Beach hotel in Miami Thursday sporting a walking boot...and a bit of a paunch.
The 2013 baseball is still months away, and Derek Jeter is still in the middle of rehab from the broken ankle he suffered in this year’s playoff. So that means he still has plenty of time to return to peak physical shape for his return, whenever that may be.
As anyone who’s had surgery on a toe, foot, leg or knee can tell you, being taken off of your feet for an extended period...
The Internet is a cruel and wonderful place. A pic surfaced recently of Derek Jeter and in it he looked as if he has had a few too many extra helpings of Thanksgiving dinner. the Internet (specifically Buzzfeed) responded accordingly and has been bombarding the Yankees captain with these gorgeous memes. We have chosen our top five for your pleasure.

Derek Jeter has his ankle in a walking boot and hasn’t been able to work out in a while. He’s gotten a bit bloated and there is a meme series called “Fat Derek Jeter” starting to blow up on the web.
By the looks of his new bloated physique, it appears that Derek Jeter has been rehabbing his injured ankle by training with C.C. Sabathia during the offseason. BuzzFeed made a hilarious meme out of the larger than life Derek Jeter and so of course I stole the idea and ran with it, which is exactly what the Captain of the Yankees should be doing right now.
Fav NY Post caption -- Derek Eater or Captain Munch?
Sad. They couldn't come up with anything referring to the world's smallest wrists.

NY POSTDerek Jeter is getting fat while recovering from ankle surgery. Look at him, he is winded from getting out of a car (I assume).
I know workouts can be tough in a walking book, but eat some salad to cut the calories. Instead, Derek looks to be on a similar diet as me. A couple of grilled cheese sandwiches for breakfast, a large pizza for lunch and another for dinner, and...
Yankees GM Brian Cashman defended Derek Jeter against criticism he has faced over reportedly gaining weight while injured.
Derek Jeter is currently recovering from surgery that was performed on his left ankle. Though acknowledging that Jeter has been “in a non-weight bearing situation and will continue to be until January”, which makes it impossible for Jeter to essentially workout, they still decided that you need to see these EXCLUSIVE PHOTOS.
The Post caught Jeter outside a South Beach hotel...
The New York Post didn’t miss the opportunity to get a couple of fat jokes in on Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter, who seems to have been eating well while recovering from the broken ankle he suffered in Game 1 of the ALCS.
“DEREK EATER: Rehabbing Jeter takes fork in the road to recovery.”
Jeter was spotted at a South Beach hotel Thursday wearing a walking boot...
New York Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said Derek Jeter's recovery from ankle surgery is coming along just fine — despite photos of the shortstop with a little added girth making the rounds.
Cashman saw the New York Post photos of Jeter outside a Miami hotel with the headlines "Derek Eater" and "Captain Munch" with what looks like a few extra...
Fat Derek Jeter has been blowing up today so a BC fan suggested we put together an all-time fat baseball team. Challenge Accepted. We went through and dug up some of the fattest slobs who have ever donned an MLB uniform.
What we noticed was that the fatty’s tend to be pitchers, first basemen and designated hitters and that it was shockingly tough to find heffers at the catcher...
When it comes to the Baseball Hall of Fame, they need to either change the record books, or let in everybody that cheated.
Roger Clemens‘ HOF vote is up next, and that is when we’ll really see who gets in and who is left outside looking in with Pete Rose.
Watching Clemens when he was in New Britain, CT in 1983, there was talent on the mound that had Cooperstown in my mind instantaneously...
