It’s funny how sometimes people can go completely unnoticed until something happens they had nothing to do with. Today, Trayvon Robinson got traded to the Baltimore Orioles for Robert Andino. Most of you right now after the fact cannot even tell me where he played before, how old he is, or whether he is bad, good or a prospect. Well it just so happens that I know a little about Trayvon Robinson as he has been a part of the Mariners’ organization for the last year and a half.
Quickly I will explain who he is from a strictly statistical perspective before I delve into the more important issues.
In 90 games he has a .215 BA, .272 OBP .330 SLG. He has 7 career SB and 5 Career HR. He can play left field or center field, and has an average to below average arm.
Now to the Important stuff. He’s only 25, He has a cool name, although it carries different connotations now than when he first showed up with the Mariners, he is out of Crenshaw High School in L.A. and is black. He is out of Minor...

Big bats needed
It’s the time of year for every Mariners fan to become the fantasy GM for their favorite team.
I know that this is something I do every year, and my ideas never even come close to whomever is sitting in that position at the time.
This year my thoughts may be a little on the outside of most Mariners fans, but at the same time, I honestly believe this is whats best...

The Seattle Mariners announced that they have sent outfielder Trayvon Robinson to the Baltimore Orioles in exchange of infielder Robert Andino. Robinson was a highly coveted prospect in the Dodgers organization that ended up in Seattle in a three-team trade that sent Erik Bedard to Boston.
The 25-year old outfielder hit .221/.294/.324 with 3 HR's, 12 RBI's and a .275 wOBA...
Mariners land Andino from O’s
M’s land versatile infielder
Looking to build some infield depth, the Seattle Mariners have acquired Robert Andino from the Baltimore Orioles for outfielder Trayvon Robinson.
With a surplus of outfielders, and a lack of depth in the middle infield, this is a trade purely for depths sake. In his career, Andino has played second, third, shortstop, left and centerfield.
The M’s...
Seattle trades Robinson to Baltimore for Andino
Looking to add depth to the infield, the Seattle Mariners acquired versatile Robert Andino from the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday in exchange for reserve outfielder Trayvon Robinson.
The trade instantly gives the Mariners an experienced infielder who can play second base, third base and shortstop. Andino is likely to fill the role held this past season by Japanese infielder Munenori...
Mariners sever ties with Chone Figgins (finally)
The Seattle Mariners have designated Chone Figgins for assignment, three years after signing him to a four year, $36 million deal that hurt the team more than it helped it. Seattle will eat the $8 million Figgins is due to earn in 2013.
In three seasons with the Mariners, Figgins provided Seattle with -0.8 fWAR in 308 games. He was demoted from a starting position in 2011, and...

On Chone Figgins and His Player Type
Following is a very basic list of things we know to be true about Chone Figgins:
He used to be very successful at baseball
Lately he has been far less successful at baseball
Tuesday night he was finally dropped by the Mariners
Relative to other players, he is little
There’s a lot more to Chone Figgins than that — there’s a lot more to everybody than that — but that’s...
O's Trade Robert Andino For Trayvon Robinson
"Given Robert Andino's down 2012, I suggested the Orioles might want to look elsewhere for a starting second baseman for 2013 if they wanted to be competitive again. When the O's picked up Alexi Casilla, the writing was kind of on the wall Andino wasn't going to be getting a starting job with the team next season. And now, as it turns it, he won't be getting...

Should The Phillies Take A Chance On Chone Figgins?
Figgins seemed to lose himself while playing in Seattle. Could relocating to Philadelphia get his career back on track? Photo: AP
With Chone Figgins being designated for assignment by the Mariners yesterday, all signs point to the once productive player hitting the free agent market. Ian Riccaboni and I sat down to discuss whether Figgins might be an option worth exploring for the...
Chone Figgins Wasn't THE Worst Player In MLB
Looking back at 2009, you have to wonder just what happened to Chone Figgins. In Figgins contract and career year, he hit .298/.395/.393 with 42 stolen bases, led the AL in walks and played world class defense at third base. Figgins posted a 7.5 rWAR (Baseball-Reference wins above replacement) that trailed only Joe Mauer (7.6), Chase Utley (8.0), Ben Zobrist (8.3) and Albert...

Chone Figgins? Sorry, I Don’t Think So.
I was reading MetsBlog’s take by Matt Cerrone on why he feels the Mets should jump on the recently released Chone Figgins.
Figgins was pretty terrible last season. I’m talking Jason Bay-level terrible. He was no better in 2011.
To be an upgrade for the Mets, he wouldn’t even have to be close to what he did 2009. I mean, his 2007, 2008 would be a significant upgrade, frankly...
