Found June 07, 2013 on Fox Sports:
Thanks to Phil Hughes, the New York Yankees could get away with only one inning of offense. What an inning it was. Robinson Cano hit a three-run homer and Mark Teixeira followed with a solo shot as part of New York's six-run third inning Thursday night, and Hughes took a shutout into the eighth for the Yankees in a 6-1 win over the Seattle Mariners. Cano and Teixeira were the catalysts for New York's big third inning that proved to be the Yankees only offense as they started a 10-game West Coast trip with a win. New York matched its season high for runs scored in an inning, tagging Seattle starter Aaron Harang (2-6) for eight hits in the third before being shut down the rest of the night. ''I don't care when we score six runs. If you get six runs a night, you're probably going to win a lot of games,'' New York manager Joe Girardi said. Hughes (3-4) won for the first time in nearly a month and continued a run of success pitching in Seattle. Hughes...

Report: Robinson Cano Not Among 20 MLB Players Who Could Be Suspended for Biogenesis Connections

Major League Baseball has cast a wide net in its investigation of the Biogenesis clinic, but it appears that net is only going to ensnare one big-name Yankee. While Alex Rodriguez is among the 20 MLB players who are reportedly being targeted for suspensions due to their connection to the Biogenesis clinic in Miami, which is accused of distributing performance-enhancing drugs, Robinson...

MLB Preparing to Suspend Players Linked To Biogenesis, Including A-Rod

Here's the story via ESPN: In case you were wondering about Cano, John Harper reports that he isn't part of this upcoming wave of suspensions because "according to a Yankee source, there has been no indication from MLB that Robinson Cano is in danger of being suspended." Hopefully, that is true. By now I'm sure we're all pretty sick of A-Rod and...

2013 Blind Resume: Second Base

Yesterday I looked at two first baseman and it was the perfect scenario for a blind resume. The top-drafted first baseman had almost the same stats as an un-drafted first baseman. Today I parallel two second baseman, and while the scenario isn’t as perfect, it’s still an interesting comparison. As usual, see if you can guess the identities of the players before they are revealed...

Empire Connections Abound On Biogenesis List

Well, well, well. Let's see: Alex Rodriguez, Melky Cabrera, Francisco Cervelli, Jesus Montero, and Robinson Cano have all been named in reports of potential suspensions for association with the disgraced Biogenesis Clinic in Florida. To be fair, Cano's connection is somewhat nebulous (the spokeswoman for his charitable foundation is on the clinic list), but do the above names...

The Yankees will try to start another winning streak after seeing their four-game streak snapped last night. Andy Pettitte will take the mound in his second start after coming off of the disabled list. Robinson Cano went hitless last night, and has struggled mightily in his last handful of games. He will try to get things going against the Mariners’ Joe Saunders. Check out...
