The news keeps getting worse for the New York Yankees and Alex Rodriguez. It was revealed during the winter meetings that Rodriguez had a hip impingement and torn lavrum in his hip. The injury likely contributed to his poor performance during the 2012 season and his abysmal postseason showing. When the news broke, it was obvious Rodriguez would have to miss some time. Now, he may have to miss the entire season.
According to CBS New York, the Yankees' Gm Brian Cashman confirmed there was a chance that the team's highly-paid superstar could miss the entire season. The injury was expected to keep Rodriguez out through at least the All-Star Game, but now it is very possible that he misses all of 2013.
“I think because (of) the serious nature of the surgery and the condition that he’s trying to recover from, you know, there is that chance.”
