Found April 08, 2013 on Lady Loves Pinstripes:
CC Sabathia came up HUGE for the New York Yankees, throwing a seven-inning shutout before handing the ball to the tandem of David Robertson and Mariano Rivera. Sabathia’s performance, along with the Yankees bats lead to a 7-0 beat down of the Detroit Tigers who had their ace Justin Verlander on the hill. This marked the second series in a row that the Yankees avoided getting swept leaving them with a 2-4 record on the season. The Yankees played great today, but what about tomorrow? MY CONFUSION: Being completely honest, this Yankees team makes me uneasy and the season is only six games deep. One minute I think I am watching a Triple-A squad, and the next a playoff contender. Can you chalk up this inconsistency to being an adjustment period? Game 2013.6: Yankees at Tigers

When I first took a look at the schedule, I thought that the Tigers should be able to take each of the first 2 series, and get out of the gate 4-2. After a disappointing games 2 and 3, the Tigers can get to 4-2 with a sweep today, which would be the first regular season sweep of the Yankees since ’08, and first in Detroit since 2000. The Tigers face Yankees ace CC Sabathia. In...

Yankees 7, Tigers 0

CC Sabathia pitched seven scoreless innings and Jayson Nix homered off Justin Verlander in the three-run second, lifting the New York Yankees to a 7-0 win over the Detroit Tigers on Sunday. The Yankees (2-4) avoided a sweep and dropping to their worst six-game record since starting the 1989 season 1-7. New York's ace had a lot to do with helping his team get the much-needed...

New York Yankees 7 — Detroit Tigers 0   CC Sabathia got his first win of the season in today’s 7-0 win over the Detroit Tigers.   In a matchup of aces, Justin Verlander started for the Detroit Tigers. Old Yankees phone number is now a sex chat line

Fans calling a toll-free phone number once used by the New York Yankees ticket office expecting to score some seats over their cell phones might be in for a real shock. Instead of getting Derek Jeter or CC Sabathia in a pre-recorded greeting, fans will be enticed by a woman's voice prompting them to a sex chat line. A Google search for "Yankees box office phone number"...

Yankees' First Week: Unexpected Offense, Disappointing Pitching & Defense

Going into today's action, Yankee fans were worrying about more injuries, while being pleasantly surprised by unexpected offense. The best news of the first week of the season was that veterans Andy Pettitte and CC Sabathia settled the minds of rattled fans with dominant wins in Games #3 and #6. As long as one of the other three starters settles in, the opposing offense won&...

Tigers are first to honor to Rivera

DETROIT What do you give a pitcher who has tormented you for nearly two decades on his last scheduled visit to your stadium? An autographed bat with a hole the size of the ball drilled into the sweet spot? Perhaps a videotape of the only two postseason series he played against Detroit? No, that would be in poor taste, since the Tigers beat the New York Yankees convincingly in...

Yankees Game 6 lineup: 4/7/13

The Yankees will try to avoid the sweep today in Detroit, as they will take on Justin Verlander and the Tigers. CC Sabathia gets the start for the bombers, and will try to improve on his lackluster Opening Day start against the Red Sox. Eduardo Nunez will sit out again with a sore right bicep, and might not be able to return to action for a few more days. * Boesch, Francisco, Hafner...

MLB Game Picks - Sunday: April 7, 2013

The first week of Major League Baseball for 2013 is in the books. Yeah, I am a traditional Sunday to Saturday type guy. The Game Picks had a good first week. After a 10-10 first few days, the picks went 37-19 over the last four days with a 10-5 day again yesterday. Now if I can just get over my obsession with picking the Astros, I will be okay. The best pick of yesterday was choosing...

The farewell tour begins

Since this will be the Yankees’ only trip to Detroit this season, the Tiger’s will hold a ceremony prior to the game to honor Mariano Rivera, who will retire at the end of the 2013 season. The farewell tour has officially begun. Much like Chipper Jones last year, Rivera will receive gifts and tributes in every city he visits. The gifts will most likely be themed towards each...
