Yankees pick up opitions, Cano and Tex win gold gloves

The New York Yankees made news by picking the options up on 2B Robinson Cano (15 million), CF Curtis Granderson (15 million) and RP David Aardsma (500k). It was obvious the Yankees were going to pick up those options and I'm sure they will try to re-sign CP Mariano Rivera and OF Ichrio Suzuki to new contracts as well. Also, the AL gold glove award winners were announced...

Yankees Exercise $30 Million Worth of Options on Two Players Who Went 7-for-70 in MLB Playoffs

The Yankees are known to spend a bit too much money on washed-up stars. They've also been talking about changing their ways and trying to stay under the luxury tax threshold moving forward. But they're willing to pay for established, premium in-house talent -- that is, if the talent produces. Oh, the irony that New York just exercised two player options that will cost...

Have you looked closely who built the SF Giants? It just happens to be the Yankees in exile

Thank God we didn't have to play the Giants. It would have taken them two games to sweep us in four. We wouldn't have gotten a hit - not one - and the Giants would still be batting in game two. The lead would be something like 104 to 0, and Nick Swisher would be pitching for us. Girardi would still be keeping A-Rod on the bench - resting him for the critical moment - and...
