The Yankees will send right-hander, Hiroki Kuroda, to the mound this afternoon in the middle game of a three-game set against the Seattle Mariners. In his last outing vs. the Red Sox, Kuroda went eight innings, allowing two runs on seven hits while striking out four.
Right-hander Felix Hernandez (9-5, 2.79 ERA) is on the mound for the Mariners. Hernandez had some control issues the last time he faced the Yankees – as he plunked, Derek Jeter, Ichiro Suzuki and Alex Rodriguez – who sustained a non-displaced fracture on his left hand.
