Brett Gardner (elbow) is expected to return to the Yankees on Wednesday or Thursday of this week.
Gardner is scheduled to play rehab games at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Monday and Tuesday, and could return to the Yankees’ active roster Wednesday if both of those go well. The fleet-footed left fielder has been sidelined for about three weeks with a right elbow strain. He’s batting .321 with a .424 on-base percentage and two stolen bases in nine games this season.

Something did happen that I missed while I was gone, the Yankees signed 26-year-old Cuban outfielder Adonis Garcia to a one-year...

Phil Hughes has been pathetically bad so far this season and with Andy Pettitte looming down in the minor leagues about ready to return, he was dangerously close to losing his rotation spot. However, his start on Sunday was just what he needed to secure his spot for at least a little bit longer and perhaps get himself back on the right track.
One start clearly doesn’t mean much...
