New York Yankees' relief pitcher Joba Chamberlain suffered a freak injury at home during the 2011-2012 offseason that caused him to miss more than half of the 2012 season. Chamberlain returned late in the year to post a 1-0 record and a 4.35 ERA in 22 relief appearances. The Yankees used him sparingly as he pitched a total of only 22 innings combining the regular season and postseason.
Chamberlain is now fully healthy. MLB.com's Yankees beat writer Bryan Hoch answered my February 10 tweet to him regarding to Chamberlain's health. Hoch responded, "I last saw him
[Chamberlain] around Thanksgiving, but he's already in Tampa, healthy and ready
to go."
Chamberlain is one of a number of Yankee pitchers recovering from injury at some point during the 2012 season or offseason. The most notable of these pitchers are CC Sabathia, Andy Pettitte, and Mariano Rivera. With Rivera now resuming his closing duties and last year's fill-in clos...

The Downfall of Alex Rodriguez
The Yankees played poorly in the postseason. The whole team, not just one individual. It is actually amazing that the team even beat the Orioles in the Division Series. But Alex Rodriguez became the face of the Yankees’ struggles. We all know the story; Raul Ibanez hit for Rodriguez and hit 2 home runs, one to tie, one to win. Then Eric Chavez played for Rodriguez in the last game...

York Yankees’ Ace pitcher CC Sabathia expects to be completely healthy for Spring
Training and, more importantly for the Yankees, ready to pitch on Opening Day. In
October, Sabathia had arthroscopic surgery on his left elbow to remove a bone

Piazza: I took karate lessons to prepare for Clemens
Mike Piazza said in his new book that he took karate lessons to prepare for fighting Roger Clemens. Here are some other funny excerpts.
Yankees not worried they have oldest starting lineup in MLB by two years
To the surprise of very few, the New York Yankees head into spring training with the oldest average starting lineup in Major League Baseball. But I don't think anyone thought the gap between first and second place would have such a large discrepancy.
According to Elias Sports Bureau, the average age of the Yankees starting lineup they expect to field on Opening Day is 32...

Mike Piazza Took Karate Lessons to Fight Roger Clemens, But Backed Down Because Clemens Was ‘Big’
On the list of people who hold grudges against Roger Clemens, former Mets catcher Mike Piazza has some pretty legitimate reasons to be near the top.
After being struck in the head by the Yankees pitcher back in 2000, Piazza finally decided to prepare a way to get even with Clemens. In his autobiography, Long Shot, Piazza details how he began taking karate lessons and mapping out...
This Salary “Cap” Is Getting Out Of Hand….The New York Yankees Should Absolutely Not Trade Robinson Cano
There has been some debate in recent days about the fate of New York Yankee second basemen Robinson Cano. Cano, the best in baseball, will be a free agent at the end of this season and, if the Yankees will give it to him, is inline for a $200 million-plus extension. Cano plays a premiere postion excellently, he’s a middle of the order bat with a very high average and plus power...
StubHub, that cruel website that kept Yankee fans away from the playoffs last October, is still underpricing the team product
Over the winter, the Yankees bolted from MLB's megadeal with the legalized scalper website called StubHub, advancing some bizarre, twisted, Moonian logic that empty seats at Yankee games came about because secondary market sellers weren't gouging enough money for tickets. I personally think the Yankees' rationale stemmed from something Charo once said on the Merv Griffin...
