Found October 12, 2011 on Bronx Baseball Daily:

The Yankees first couple of moves this offseason are of the minor variety as they have lost three relievers. One, Aaron Laffey was claimed off waivers by the Royals (link) and the other two, Scott Proctor and Raul Valdes, simply elected to become free agents (link).

Proctor came back to the Yankees this season after the Atlanta Braves cut him loose midseason. He was a disaster for the Yankees and could potentially have thrown his last major league pitch. The other two were lefties that didn’t figure into the Yankees future plans after they barely figured in their plans down the stretch.

Their loss is almost entirely meaningless except for the fact that the Yankees have now trimmed their 40-man roster down to 37 players.
