Umm so remember when we here at BSO reported yesterday that New York Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira, hurt his forearm while hitting off a tee and would only be out 7-10 days? Well it turns out it was a much worst injury to his wrist and according to George A. King III of the New York Post, Teixeira will be sidelined for 8-10 weeks. The Yankees’ nightmare spring training continued on Wednesday with news that Mark Teixeira will be out 8-10 weeks with a strained right wrist. Yankees manager Joe Girardi said that Teixeira will rest four weeks before beginning rehab. The timetable means that Teixeira is unlikely to be in the middle of the Yankees lineup until the middle of June, joining Curtis Granderson and Alex Rodriguez on the team’s list of power bats that start the season on the disabled list. Teixeira flew to New York on Wednesday to have tests done on the wrist. The first baseman had been in Arizona preparing for the World Baseball Classic when he heard a pop in his wrist. If you’re a Yankees fan, this is an appropriate time to start panicking.
