Yankees right handed pitcher Hector Noesi will be a starting pitcher for the Domincan Winter League team the Tigres de Licey, according to Kevin Golstein of Baseball Prospectus.
This is a good move for Noesi’s development. A starter throughout his minor league career, he debuted and played most of the 2011 season as a reliever in the Bronx. This move will put him back in a rotation and prepare him to potentially be a starter in the Yankees rotation next season.
It also helps him to build up innings as he threw just 81 innings in 2011 compared to 160.1 in 2010. 56.1 of those innings came with the Yankees where he put up a 4.47 ERA, a 7.2 K/9, and a 3.5 BB/9 for a solid rookie campaign.
