New York Yankees' closer Mariano Rivera recently told Bryan Hoch of mlb.com that his injured right knee is at "95 percent".
"It's not 100 percent. It would be, I would say 95 percent.", Rivera tells Hoch. "By the time Spring Training starts, it'll feel 100 percent."
Rivera suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in what many would call a freak accident. The soon to be Hall of Famer was shagging fly balls during batting practice, when suddenly he slipped and injured himself worse than anyone could have imagined.
This mind-boggling injury forced the 43-year-old Rivera to undergo surgery, which, in turn ended the season for him.
Mariano has spent all 18 of his major league seasons with the Bronx Bombers.
During his 18-year career, Rivera has appeared in 1,051 regular season games while posting an unbelievable 2.21 ERA. Not to mention that Rivera has more saves (608) than anybody else in the history of the game. Having Rivera bac...
