Derek Jeter has played a grand total of one big league game this season, and he won’t play another for at least another week or so. The Yankees placed the shortstop on the 15-day disabled list Friday after his latest injury setback. The move is retroactive to July 12, but the 39-year-old’s status after the stint runs out may be up in the air, too. Jeter, who rushed back from rehabbing a broken ankle suffered in last year’s playoffs, aggravated his hamstring. He played just the one game on July 11 and then didn’t play again before the All-Star break. There was talk that Jeter would go on the DL, and that move was made official Friday. The Yankees have called up Brent Lillibridge from Triple-A to take Jeter’s place. Jeter played in just four rehab games with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre with 13 plate appearances before being activated. The plan was to keep Jeter rehabbing for a little while longer, but injuries forced the club to activate him before they really wanted to. The plan was to let him continue that rehab in the majors, so to speak, a plan that apparently backfired in the club’s face. But on the bright side for the  Yankees, Alex Rodriguez will be returning to the New York lineup on Monday.
