New York Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira will miss at least the next four games with a calf injury, and it's possible he will be out the rest of the season, ESPN.com reported Sunday. Yankees manager Joe Girardi told reporters on Sunday Teixeira will have an MRI on Monday, but he is worried that Teixeira may not play again this season. "There is part of me that wonders that," Girardi said. "There is basically 3 1/2 weeks left. If it does go back to square one, then I'd really wonder." Teixeira missed 10 games with the calf injury before starting Saturday night against the Baltimore Orioles. Teixeira reinjured his calf in that game, and Girardi thinks it occurred when Teixeira tried to beat out an infield hit when he was called out on a disputed play. Girardi said he'll move Nick Swisher from right field to first base. Teixeira is batting .255 with 23 homers.
