As shocking as this may sound, reports are coming out of Florida that the New York Yankees do not plan on extending an offer to Alex Rodriguez to keep him in the pin stripes.
While the Yankees say they do not plan on extending his current contract, which would keep him in the Bronx for four more years, A-Rod has the right to opt out after this season, a clause Yankees GM Brian Cashman said is a right he has "earned."
If the converted 3B decides to leave he will become an unrestricted free agent, if not, he can play out the remained of his contract in NY.
