A good first at-bat for Michael Young, who returned tonight from a pulled left hamstring. He saw eight pitches from Edgar Gonzalez before flying out the center field. The Rangers had runners at first and second with one out but didn't score. The A's, though, plated an unearned run off Brandon McCarthy in the first and lead the Rangers 1-0. -- Jeff Wilson
