It was all good for the Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday night.
The 2nd-largest crowd of the season, 48,496 strong, came for bobbleheads and to watch the best player in team history have his number retired. They left with smiles on their faces as Chris Young, who started the game with a solo home run, also ended the game with a solo home run, giving the Diamondbacks a 6-5 win over the division-leading San Diego Padres at Chase Field.
Oh, and free tacos too.
It looked like the night would end on a somber note, as Aaron Heilman, pitching for the fourth straight game, gave up two solo home runs to Scott Hairston and Adrian Gonzalez to tie the game at 5-5. Hairston led off the inning with a solo shot to left to pull the Padres to within a run. Heilman responded by getting Will Venable to fly out to right and Miguel Tejada was retired on a comebacker. With two outs, Heilman got ahead of Gonzalez 1-2, and appeared to throw what looked like a called strike three that would have ended...
