Zack Greinke pitched the first several innings of Sunday’s Angels-Rangers game with his last name misspelled on the back of his jersey. As you can see in the screen shot above provided by Mock Session, Greinke’s last name was misspelled “Grienke.” After the mistake was pointed out, the Angels fixed things and Greinke returned with a jersey that had his last name spelled properly, but he still pitched for about an hour before that issue was solved. The jersey may have brought him some bad luck, because Greinke had his worst outing in five weeks. The Angels starter gave up four runs over the first three innings after going seven consecutive starts without allowing more than two runs. Believe it or not, this sort of mistake actually happens quite frequently.

Greinke pitches part of game in wrong uniform

ARLINGTON, Texas The Texas Rangers had better luck Sunday against Zack Grienke than they did against Zack Greinke. Greinke pitched the first part of Sunday's game with his last name misspelled on the back of his jersey. The spelling on the back of it was Grienke as he allowed four runs in three innings. Greinke changed jersey between innings and maybe that changed his fortune...

Photo: Even Mike Trout gets hazed

Angels outfielder Torii Hunter posted this picture on Twitter after Sunday's Angels-Rangers doubleheader in Arlington of Mike Trout, the presumptive AL Rookie of the Year, potential AL MVP, and possibly the best baseball player living on Earth...dressed as a stereotypical baby, complete with bonnet, diaper, stuffed animal...and sneakers with red socks, of course. Rookie hazing...

Wells' son has emergency appendectomy

ARLINGTON, Texas -- On Wednesday night, Vernon Wells' son did not feel well. On Thursday, as the Angels played an afternoon game in Anaheim, Wells' wife took his child to the doctor. Of all the things the Wells family considered hearing, this was not high on the list: "Your 7-year-old son needs an emergency appendectomy." Wells got word at the ballpark and left...

Angels Bullpen Falters In Annual Karaoke Tournament - Details Below

By John Taylor - AngelsWin.com Red Onion Contributor San Juan Capistrano, CA – After getting off to a fast start, the Los Angeles Angels All-Star karaoke team failed to capture the Grand Champions Trophy at the 5th annual “Bob’s Pizza and Yogurt All-Star Karaoke Jam.” The team got off to a strong start, with ace Jared Weaver singing a rendition of Journey’s ...

Trout 1st rookie with 30 HRs, 30 steals

Angels center fielder Mike Trout has become the first major league rookie ever with 30 home runs and 40 stolen bases. Trout hit his 30th homer Sunday, a two-out solo shot in the seventh inning at Texas off Yu Darvish. The 21-year-old Trout had a leadoff walk to start the game, then quickly got his 48th stolen base. Only two players in the majors have ever had 30 homers and 50...

Morales has 'held up fine' for Angels, Scioscia says

The Los Angeles Angels had no idea what they could expect from Kendrys Morales this season. Not after nearly two years and two surgeries to repair the fractured ankle he suffered on May 29, 2010. "Coming in (to spring training) and talking to the medical staff, there was concern: Was this guy going to play 50 games or was he going to play 130 games?" manager Mike Scioscia...

Mike Napoli, and What Ownership Could Look Like

When the Angels traded actual value(!) for the overwhelming bulk of Vernon Wells‘ contract(!), it didn’t look like there were very many ways by which the Angels could come away looking smart. There were more ways by which the Angels could come away feeling content, though, like if Wells performed well enough, even if not well enough to be worth his salary. These days the Angels...

Is the Angels rookie MVP worthy?

Angels 8, Mariners 4

Mike Trout had four hits and drove in three runs in Los Angeles' 8-4 victory over the Seattle Mariners on Monday night but it was not enough to keep the Angels in the playoff chase. The Angels, with a high payroll and high expectations as the season started, were eliminated from the wild-card race after the Oakland Athletics' 4-3 victory over the Texas Rangers on Monday...

No help, no more hope for Angels

The Angels did their part. They hoped the Texas Rangers would do theirs. No such luck. The Angels' season came to a screeching halt on a cool night in a half empty ballpark in Seattle. Their final two games will have no meaning, at least in terms of deciding their playoff future this season. They have none. While rookie Mike Trout had another dazzling night at the plate and...

Wild-card hopeful Angels rally to win 5-4 at Texas

(Eds: Angels 5, Rangers 4. With AP Photos.) By STEPHEN HAWKINS AP Sports Writer Torii Hunter hit a two-run double with two outs in the ninth inning, and the Los Angeles Angels boosted their wild-card chances by rallying past the AL West-leading Texas Rangers 5-4 in the opener of a day-night doubleheader Sunday. Hunter's double into the left-center gap came off Joe Nathan (3...

Nathan blows save, win in matinee

Yu Darvish vs. Zack Greinke.  Now that’s a Fan Appreciation Day pitching match-up I can get behind.  And it was pretty thrilling, probably moreso for Rangers fans. The Rangers bats got to Greinke early, scoring four times on four hits in the first three innings.  The last RBI hit was off the bat of Adrian Beltre in the 3rd, and then Greinke seemed to settle down.  The Rangers...
