Just five days after professing his love for the organization, Giants outfielder Justin Christian has been designated for assignment by the club, according to a tweet from San Jose Mercury reporter Andrew Baggarly.
The move was made so the Giants could reconcile their 40-man roster, after they officially added infielder Ryan Theriot and reliever Guillermo Mota today.

The San Francisco Giants have signed outfielder Justin Christian to a Minor League contract, Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports reports.
The 30-year-old Christian played for the New York Yankees in 2008 where he hit .250 with seven stolen bases and no home runs in 24 games.

Britton and Christian Non-Tendered
Peter Abraham is reporting that the Yankees non-tendered Justin Christian and Chris Britton. This makes them both free agents. I bet Britton is happy he won't have to take that Scranton to New York shuttle 20 times a season. Maybe the next team that signs him will actually give him a chance.
