Outfielder Andruw Jones returning to Japan for 2014 season
Japan's Rakuten Eagles have said that Andruw Jones will return for another season after helping the Pacific League team win the Japan Series last year.
The 36-year-old former major leaguer has agreed to a one-year deal worth $3.8 million, Japanese media reported Wednesday.
Jones batted .243 while hitting 26 home runs and a team-high 94 RBI as the Eagles won their first Japan Series...

Andruw Jones has re-signed with the Rakuten Golden Eagles of Japan’s Pacific League reports Chris Cotillo of MLB Daily Dish.
The news is hardly a surprise as the 36-year-old figures to earn far more in Japan than he would stateside. There’s a good chance that Jones finishes his playing days in Japan.

Chris Cotillo of MLB Daily Dish reports that OF Andruw Jones has re-signed with the Rakuten Golden Eagles of Japan’s Pacific League after drawing off-season interest from at least two MLB teams. The financial terms of his new contract have not been made available.
The belief here is that those MLB clubs were only willing to offer Andruw Jones a non-guaranteed minor league contract...
