Blake Tekotte was a 3rd round pick in 2008. After being named a Cal League All Star in 2010, he finished the year with a great .276/.367/.478 line with 18 HR and 28 SB. He followed it up with an even more impressive 2011 campaign, which saw him earn his 1st big league promotion in late May. Tekotte had 2 hits in his 1st 2 big league AB, and managed to make a name for himself among Padre fans.

Geer outduels Colby Lewis 3-0
How many times are you going to see that? In a minor league battle of a world series starting pitcher verse a former big leaguer who has missed the last 11 months recovering from cancer who would have guessed that the Padres would win the contest? Chris Dinorfria and Blake Tekotte provide the offensive spark and after Geer left the bases loaded in the 1st, it was smooth sailing.
