Brandon Inge is Killing the Tigers
Grand Slam!
On April 26, 2012, the Detroit Tigers finally released Brandon Inge. The long-time Tiger had been performing at an extremely low level for the Tigers, with 2 hits in 20 at bats in 2012. In 2011, Inge hit .197 with only 3 HR in 269 at bats for the Tigers. At the time of Inge’s release, the Tigers were 10-8. Since his release, the Tigers are 6-8. To make it worse...

We've seen some pretty wacky bounces here on Outside the Boxscore but I've never seen this happened ever before.

Inge had to go
If theres one thing that we can all agree upon when it comes to former Tiger Brandon Inge, it's that he has a flair for the dramatic.

Released by the Tigers on April 26, Inge signed with Oakland three days later...

Brandon Inge’s home run ball bounced off a fan’s nuts into a woman’s face (Video)
In some sort of incredible twist that could only happen in a comedy movie, a Brandon Inge home run ball on Sunday night went off a fan’s nuts and caromed into a woman’s face.
The video, seen above via Busted Coverage, is titled “Unluckiest couple at baseball game,” and it’s hard to disagree. That is some serious “Three Stooges” ish right...

Wakiji: Inge goes out graciously
Detroit -- Detroit Tigers fans no longer have Brandon Inge to kick around anymore.
The Tigers released Inge after Thursday's 5-4 loss to the Seattle Mariners, ending an era that started on April 3, 2001, when Inge made his major league debut at catcher on Opening Day.
In fact, I had a weird flashback to that day, standing next to Inge's locker before he spoke. That first...

Keating: Inge done with Tigers
DETROIT -- Well, NOW what can we talk about?
Sports-talk radio just got a little quieter. Twitter has fewer tweets.
Brandon Inge has played his last game as a Tiger.
Everybody happier now?
Baseball is a big-boy business. Its a bottom-line game. Those who can play, play. Those who cant, get released. Everyone acknowledges that.
Inge has not been able to hit consistently the...
