Freeman's eye problems aren't getting any better
First baseman Freddie Freeman missed another start Monday because of continuing vision problems, and there is no easy solution.
Wind and dry air in Colorado when the Braves played the Rockies on May 4-6 were only the beginning. His actual prescription has changed since, from 1.5 in each eye to 1.75 and 2, and that isn't all.
Freeman no longer is able to make tears, not even...

Chipper Jones is missing his seventh straight start because of a bruised leg, and Brian McCann is out for the fourth straight game with flu-like symptoms, leaving the Braves short-handed against the Nationals.
There was still swelling and discoloration in Jones' left foot, ankle and calf on Friday. He was hit by a grounder May 18 at Tampa Bay.

Braves' Ross, McCann pose big off-season questions
The Atlanta Braves have a 2013 option on catcher Brian McCann, which they will pick up. But things get tricky after that. McCann was scratched from the lineup with flu-like symptoms Wednesday against the Reds, the second consecutive day that's happened. He hasn't had his usual year at the plate, although he is batting .324 (11 for 34) in his last nine games since May 11...

Michael Bourn of the Atlanta Braves doesn't know how to high five, sticks his finger in Brian McCann's eye
"You have a little something on your face." It's easy to get overly excited during a game. Your adrenaline is flowing, there's excitement in the air and when a teammate hits a grand slam to tie the game you could very well be ecstatic. That's no excuse to completely forget how to high five when you shouldn't be high fiving in the first place. Atlanta Braves...

Braves catcher poked in eye during grand slam celebration
Players injuring themselves during celebrations is something that happens all too often. With baseball, these injuries tend to occur after a walk-off win. When 25 grown men are all waiting at home plate to beat the crap out of the guy who just delivered the game-winning hit, something bad like this is bound to happen. On Wednesday night, the Braves reminded us that injuries can happen...

Brian McCann poked in the eye by Michael Bourn
Never been a big fan of the high ten. In the heat of battle, two players trying to sync up four hands just leads to it looking goofy. Atlanta Braves catcher Brian McCann was the victim of him and teammates failed attempt at the high ten and he ended up getting poked in the eye. [...]

Damn, Pittsburgh Pirates! Atlanta Braves’ Brian McCann Hurt Again
This is getting a little ridiculous, right? The last two games Brian McCann has played against the Pittsburgh Pirates have resulted in an injury. Last season, McCann injured his oblique in the 19th inning game the Pirates and Atlanta Braves played on July 26. Last night, McCann left the game in the fifth inning after grounding out to second base. More after the jump
