Rondon struggles, goes back to Toledo
DETROIT -- The Bruce Rondon experiment is on hold once again.
The Tigers optioned Rondon to Triple-A Toledo after Wednesday's 6-2 loss to Minnesota.
Rondon hit 101 mph several times during the seventh, but two of those fastballs were hit for a triple and an RBI single. He retired only one of the five batters he faced, walking two and giving up the two hits.

Bruce Rondon Demoted After Another Disappointing Outing
Bruce Rondon took over in the seventh inning Wednesday, in the series finale against Minnesota, with the Detroit Tigers threatening to pull off a comeback win. Detroit scored two in the bottom of the sixth to trim the Twins’ lead to 3-2, then handed it over to Rondon to keep the game close.
It, uh, did not go so well.
Rondon’s fourth pitch of the inning (all fastballs) was laced...
Throwing heat and blowing saves: Bruce Rondon debuts for the Tigers
Many Tiger fans got their first look at Bruce Rondon in spring training when the 22-year-old Venezuelan was pushing radar guns into triple digits. His command wasn’t there though, and he was sent to AAA to begin the year. But that didn’t last long. Just like last season when he went from the Florida State League to the Eastern League to the International League, Rondon was on...

Detroit Tigers: who should close?
The closing situation for the Detroit Tigers has become an absolute mess in the span of just one week. Rewind 7 days ago and Bruce Rondon was basically still the guy. Today, things are clouded. How cloudy you ask? So dense that even Carlos Marmol’s name has popped up in trade rumors.
My fingers could barely type that. If Carlos Marmol is acquired by the Tigers then I think weâ...
