Gonzalez has been dealing with left knee soreness and rolled his ankle on Saturday. He should return to the Rockies lineup in a day or so. Connor’s Corner: While Tulowitzki Fits, Gonzalez Does Not

All the buzz surrounding the Mets this week as the trade deadline fast approaches has been about Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki. I wrote extensively yesterday about why he is a good trade target for the Mets. However, reports indicate it is far more likely the Mets acquire Tulowitzki’s teammate, outfielder Carlos Gonzalez. No one is going to argue that Gonzalez is anywhere near...

Could the Colorado Rockies Deal Carlos Gonzalez?

It’s been a rough year for the Colorado Rockies. They got out to a nice start, but things have been downhill from there. As of now they own a 43-62 record, which puts them in last place in the NL West. While they have several attractive trade chips, the front office and ownership are seemingly at odds with regards to whether or not they should be traded. Carlos Gonzalez has been...

Just Say No to Tulo

Before you jump down my throat, give me a chance to explain. Rumors are running wild because the Mets allegedly made a phone call to the Colorado Rockies declaring their interest in acquiring either Troy Tulowitzki, who leads the National League in hitting, or Carlos Gonzalez, who is currently in the middle of one of his worst seasons as a pro. I’m not a fan of sacrificing huge...

The Mets Must Take Risks to Improve the Team

Recent rumors that the Mets want in on potential talks for Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki and outfielder Carlos Gonzalez have created debate amongst the people of #MetsTwitter. Some, like myself, believe the Mets should make a serious push for one of these two players. Others think the Mets should avoid them because both players would cost a significant amount of talent and also...

DraftKings – Here Today, CarGone Tomorrow

Most things that can be enjoyed in life are temporary and fleeting. When it comes to owning Carlos Gonzalez (OF, $4,700) in fantasy, the previous statement couldn't be more accurate. The only thing CarGo is better at than putting up big fantasy numbers is racking up DL stints and games missed. Which is why he is the perfect player for Daily Fantasy formats like DraftKings. When...

Carlos Gonzalez returns as Rockies trounce Twins with defense, power

There's a kind of slap-hug that Carlos Gonzalez and Troy Tulowitzki share when they greet each other at home plate, like reluctant brothers who don't want Mom to notice they care. Quick, hug it out before anybody sees. It was on full view Friday night at Coors Field. Gonzalez, who returned to the Rockies' lineup after missing 35 games, ripped a sharp line drive to right...
