The Cubs recalled right-handed pitchers Alberto Cabrera and Chris Volstad from Triple-A Iowa and optioned right-handed pitcher Casey Coleman. Cabrera has never appeared in the big leagues. The Chicago Cubs have optioned pitcher Casey Coleman to Triple-A Iowa and recalled pitchers Chris Volstad and Alberto Cabrera from the minor league club.
The Cubs announced the moves before Wednesday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Coleman was recalled Tuesday and got hit hard in a 5-0 loss filling in for Ryan Dempster, who was traded to Texas.

Cubs recall Volstad to make start against Braves
The Chicago Cubs have optioned Casey Coleman to Triple-A Iowa to clear a roster spot for Chris Volstad, who was recalled from Iowa to start Tuesday night against the Atlanta Braves.
Coleman was 0-1 with a 7.32 ERA and allowed 13 earned runs in his last seven appearances. The right-hander gave up seven earned runs, his career-high as a reliever, in last Wednesday's 17-1 loss...
