Hefner and Puello Reassigned To Minor League Camp
After the game today, the Mets optioned Cesar Puello and Jeremy Hefner to minor league camp.
The Mets now have 40 players in major league camp.

Mets send two more prospects to minor league camp

According to Adam Rubin of ESPN NY, the Mets optioned prospect Cesar Puello and right-hander Jeremy Hefner to minor league camp. Hefner had just tossed two scoreless innings against the Houston Astros.
The Mets now have 40 players in major league camp.

I wish I could have more faith in Puello’s potential as an outfield prospect, but first he has several things to prove to me.

Comparing Cesar Puello and Carlos Beltran
Recently over at his MetsMinorLeagueBlog.com Toby Hyde made an interesting age-based comparison when he matched up Cesar Puello and Carlos Beltran. Hyde pointed out that they were both playing center field in Hi-A at age 20 and both put up mediocre stat lines. Here are their respective numbers:
