Twins release P Anthony Slama, sign P Cody Eppley
MINNEAPOLIS -- The Anthony Slama experiment is over in Minnesota.
Slama, 29, was released from Triple-A Rochester on Thursday. The right-hander spent seven seasons in the Twins minor league system after he was taken in the 39th round of the 2006 draft. Slama found success in the minors 455 strikeouts in 338 13 innings and a 2.45 ERA as a reliever but never got much of a chance...

Yanks add Eppley, drop Nunez for ALCS vs Tigers
The Yankees added reliever Cody Eppley to their active roster for the AL championship series against Detroit and dropped infielder Eduardo Nunez.

Yankees reliever Cody Eppley took a ball off the noggin courtesy of teammate Eric Chavez (VIDEO)
Baseball players know that the occasional beaning is all a part of the game. Except that normally you don’t expect to get nailed in the head by one of your own teammates, which is exactly what happened to Yankees reliever Cody Eppley during the sixth inning of Tuesday night’s game against the Tigers.

Yankees reliever beaned by teammate
Our not top play of the night award goes to Cody Eppley, a relief pitcher of the New York Yankees that was accidently hit in the head on a throw from third baseman Eric Chavez.
Eppley was staring at the mound when Chavez threw him a ball after tossing it around the infield. Perhaps the most entertaining part of the video is the YES network analysts laughing during the replay.
Yankees place RHP Robertson on DL; recall Eppley
The New York Yankees have placed reliever David Roberston on the 15-day disabled list with a strained muscle in his left ribcage.
Tuesday's move puts additional burden on a bullpen already without closer Mariano Rivera. Robertson finished five games this season and was 0-1 with a 2.51 ERA and one save.
With Rivera likely out for the season with a torn knee ligament, Robertson...

Yankees demote Cody Eppley to make room for Pettitte
In order to make room for Andy Pettitte on the active roster, the Yankees demoted right handed reliever Cody Eppley to Triple-A and placed Mariano Rivera on the 60-day disabled list.
Eppley is a 26-year-old that the Yankees nabbed off waivers from the Texas Rangers to replace George Kontos who went to San Francisco in the Chris Stewart deal. Eppley had mixed results in his short...
