Thieves destroy Cory Lidle statue for its valuable metal

Thieves destroyed a statue of former Yankee pitcher Cory Lidle in California last week in an attempt to steal the bronze and copper it’s made of, said police.The 8-foot-tall memorial — worth about $100,000 — was unveiled outside a West Covina park in 2007 in honor of Lidle — a former NYC resident who died in 2006 when his plane crashed into an East Side Manhattan high-rise.Police...
