In the annals of Chicago baseball history, White Sox slugger Frank Thomas is one of the greatest to play in the city of big shoulders.
Last night, Thomas got a chance to try his hand at hockey during an intermission of game six of the Phoenix Coyotes/Chicago Blackhawks as he got a chance to shoot a puck at an open net:

Longtime Tide Aide Clem Gryska Dies
Clem Gryska enjoyed telling the story. Red Drew had taken over the head coaching reins at Alabama from Frank Thomas, and Drew changed the offense from the Notre Dame box to the T formation. Gryska, who had been a quarterback (which was a blocking position), was switched to an end.
