Paul Skenes, Jase Bowen and several others left fans with a lot of hope for the future. All 30 MLB teams gave fans a glimpse of the future Thursday night with the “Spring Breakout” games, and needless to say, it left a lot of folks excited for the road ahead.
On Thursday, the Salt River Rafters traveled to Peoria to face the Javelinas. Pittsburgh Pirates prospects Jase Bowen and Jack Brannigan were in Salt River’s starting lineup. It was a high-scoring affair between Salt River and Peoria, but the Javelinas held on to a 10-8 victory.
On Tuesday, Nov. 7, the Arizona Fall League was back in action. The Salt River Rafters squared off against the Mesa Solar Sox. Pittsburgh Pirates prospects Jase Bowen (RF) and Jack Brannigan (SS) were in the starting lineup. In addition, pitcher J.C.
Pittsburgh Pirates prospect Jase Bowen has had himself a busy weekend. Saturday, Bowen was in the Arizona Fall League Home Run Derby, and Sunday, he was in the Fall Stars game.
Friday, Nov. 3, the Salt River Rafters squared off against Surprise Saguaros. Pittsburgh Pirates prospects Jase Bowen (RF), Carter Bins (DH), and Jack Brannigan (SS) were in Salt River’s starting lineup.
Thursday, Nov. 2, The Salt River Rafters traveled to Scottsdale to face the Scorpions. Pittsburgh Pirates prospects Jase Bowen (RF) and Jack Brannigan (SS) were in Salt River’s starting lineup.
Wednesday, Nov. 1, the Salt River Rafters squared off against The Peoria Javelinas in Peoria. Pittsburgh Pirates prospects Carter Bins (C) and Jase Bowen (CF) were in Salt River’s starting lineup. In addition, there were no Pirates pitchers who played in Wednesday’s game. It was a game for the baseball purists.

This is one in a series of stories breaking down PBN’s Top 30 Pittsburgh Pirates prospects. If there is one Pittsburgh Pirates prospect who has jumped onto people’s radars, it’s Jase Bowen.
The Salt River Rafters squared off against the Mesa Solar Sox Monday night after a scheduled day off on Sunday. Pittsburgh Pirates prospects Jase Bowen (RF) and Jack Brannigan (SS) started for Salt River. In addition, Pirates prospect Cameron Junker made a relief appearance.
Heading into Friday’s game, the Salt River Rafters found themselves on a two-game losing streak with Surprise coming into town. Pittsburgh Pirates prospect Jase Bowen, was the lone Pirates position player prospect for Salt River. In addition, left-handed pitcher Nick Dombkowski appeared late in the ball game.
The Salt River Rafters played the Surprise Saguaros in game 14 of the Arizona Fall League season. Representing the Pittsburgh Pirates for Salt River was Jase Bowen. In addition, Bowen batted second and played first base.
On Saturday night, it was a fun and exciting night for Pittsburgh Pirates prospects Jase Bowen (1B) and Jack Brannigan (SS). The Salt River Rafters squared off against the Glendale Desert Dogs. Fueled by some timely extra-base hits from Brannigan and Bowen, Salt River walked away victorious 7-2 over Glendale.
For the first time in the Arizona Fall League season, Pittsburgh Pirates prospect Jase Bowen did not play for the Salt River Rafters. Bowen had played in the team’s first ten games. Salt River played Pirates prospect Jack Brannigan (SS) and Carter Bins (C) in Bowen’s absence.
In game number ten of the Arizona Fall League, the Pittsburgh Pirates had one lone prospect represent them. Jase Bowen has now played in all ten games and is the lone prospect to do so for the Pirates on Salt River’s roster.
Finally, Pittsburgh Pirates prospect Jack Brannigan had his breakout game in the Arizona Fall League. In addition, the Pirates pitching staff in the fall league impressed against a potent Peoria lineup Wednesday night. The Pirates had six representatives Wednesday night with Jase Bowen, Brannigan, Nick Dombkowski, J.C.
IIt was an exciting night for some Arizona Fall League baseball for the Pittsburgh Pirates and their prospects. Starting Tuesday’s game was Jase Bowen (CF), Jack Brannigan (SS), and Carter Bins (DH). In addition, Alessandro Ercolani made a relief appearance and earned his first win of the Fall League season.
After an off-day on Sunday, the Arizona Fall League and the Pittsburgh Pirates prospects were ready to go with another game on Monday. The Salt River Rafters had two Pirates inserted into Monday’s lineup with Jase Bowen (RF) and Jack Brannigan (SS).

We are now five games into the Arizona Fall League season. Friday night, Pittsburgh Pirates prospects Jase Bowen (center field), Carter Bins (catcher), Alessandro Ercolani (RHP), and Cameron Junker (RHP) played against Mesa.
For the first time in his professional career, Pittsburgh Pirates prospect J.C. Flowers made his Arizona Fall League debut. Although Flowers had been coming out of the bullpen for Triple-A Indianapolis, he started for Salt River Thursday night.
Wednesday night, the Arizona Fall League continued with game number three. Pittsburgh Pirates prospect Jase Bowen was the lone position player to start the game for Salt River, and he had an excellent game.
It was a disappointing Tuesday night for the Pittsburgh Pirates prospects in the Arizona Fall League. However, there were a few bright spots in an otherwise dreadful game.
With MLB’s regular season over and the Pittsburgh Pirates are left out of the playoffs again, we turn our attention to the off-season. Before we go deep into the off-season, we have the Arizona Fall League to look forward to.
