JHOULYS CHACIN RUMORS

The Colorado Rockies rescinded the decision to option right-handed pitcher Jhoulys Chacin to Triple-A Colorado Springs and placed Chacin on the 15-day disabled list with right shoulder inflammation. It is retroactive to May 2. Chacin went 0-3 with a 7.30 ERA in five starts this season. Chacin led the Rockies in wins (11), innings pitched (194.0) and ERA (3.62) during the 2011 season.

Last Wednesday, the Colorado Rockies demoted starting pitcher Jhoulys Chacin to AAA Colorado Springs. Today, the Denver Post is reporting that Chacin had not reported to Colorado Springs yet, and wasn't planning on it. Before the All-Star break last year, Chacin was performing pretty well. He had a 3.16 ERA in 116 2/3 innings, striking out 101, walking 50, and allowing 15 homers...
