Rockies place Chacin on DL
The Colorado Rockies rescinded the decision to option right-handed pitcher Jhoulys Chacin to Triple-A Colorado Springs and placed Chacin on the 15-day disabled list with right shoulder inflammation. It is retroactive to May 2. Chacin went 0-3 with a 7.30 ERA in five starts this season. Chacin led the Rockies in wins (11), innings pitched (194.0) and ERA (3.62) during the 2011 season.

Rockies' Chacin declines AAA assignment
Last Wednesday, the Colorado Rockies demoted starting pitcher Jhoulys Chacin to AAA Colorado Springs. Today, the Denver Post is reporting that Chacin had not reported to Colorado Springs yet, and wasn't planning on it.

Chacin stuck in a losing streak
Rockies RHP Jhoulys Chacin has lost five straight starts. He lost his last four starts in 2011 and lost again Monday to the Giants when he gave up four hits, five runs and five walks in four innings and lost 7-0.
